Driving to the Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau

From Portland, Oregon (~115 miles; 2 1/2 hours)

  • Take I-5 North to Longview, WA. (~40 miles)
  • Exit to SR 432 West, the first Longview Exit.
  • Follow SR 432 to the "Third Avenue" exit. (~2 miles)
  • Turn left onto SR 433 West.
  • Follow SR 433 to the turn onto the Lewis & Clark Bridge. (~2 miles)
  • Cross the Lewis & Clark Bridge back into Oregon.
  • Turn right onto Hwy 30 West (go up the hill).
  • Follow Hwy 30 to Astoria, OR. (~45 miles)
  • Cross the Astoria-Megler Bridge back to Washington.
  • Turn left as you come off the bridge, onto US 101 North.
  • Follow US 101 through the village of Chinook and into Ilwaco (~11 miles)
  • When you reach the stoplight, you are in Ilwaco.
  • Turn right to head north on Hwy 103, the Peninsula's main North-South road.
  • The Long Beach Peninsula Visitor's Bureau is just less than 2 miles North, on your right

 From Seattle, Washington (~165 miles; 3 1/2 hours)

  • Take I-5 South to Olympia (~55 miles).
  • Exit #104 to SR 8, which will become SR 12 (~40 miles)
  • Exit at Montesano, turning left onto US 107.
  • Follow US 107 until it ends at a "T" with US 101 (~10 miles)
  • Turn left onto US 101.
  • Stop in Raymond and see the unique roadside sculpture! (~18 miles)
  • Continue on US 101 as it winds its way along Willapa Bay. Many of the curves are sharp and be especially watchful for deer and elk. Enjoy the many shorebirds, including Great Blue Herons. Continue following US 101 until it ends at a "T" with Hwy.4 at a place known by the locals as "Johnson's Landing". Turn right at this stop sign. (~30 miles)
  • Continue on Hwy 4 (alt. US 101). Leaving the edge of the bay, the road straightens and finally comes to a "T" with US 103. (~12 miles)
  • You are now in Seaview.
  • Hwy 103 is the Long Beach Peninsula's main North-South road.
  • The Long Beach Peninsula Visitor's Bureau is on your right.
  • Turn left to go to Ilwaco.
  • Turn right to go to Long Beach, Klipsan Beach, Ocean Park, Nahcotta, Oysterville & Surfside.

 From Centralia/Chehalis, Washington

  • Drive 53 miles on Hwy 6 to Raymond
  • Turn left onto US 101.
  • Stop in Raymond and see the unique roadside sculpture! (~18 miles)

From Portland International Airport

  • Take Airport Way to I-205 S
  • Follow I-205 S towards PORTLAND / I-84 / SALEM, merge onto I-84 W
  • Take the I-5 S exit on the left towards SALEM, merge onto I-5 S
  • Take the I-405 exit on the left towards US-26 / BEAVERTON / CITY CENTER
  • Merge onto I-405 N
  • Take the US-26 W / 12th AVE. exit, exit number 1D, towards BEAVERTON
  • Merge onto US-26 W, follow US-26 W to Hwy 101 junction
  • Turn Right onto Hwy 101 N and follow the signs to SEASIDE

 From Longview, Washington (I-5 South)    

  • Take the WA-4 exit - Exit 39 - towards KELSO
  • Turn Right onto ALLEN ST. / WA-4. Continue to follow ALLEN ST.
  • Turn Left onto 1ST AVE / WA-411. Continue to follow WA-411
  • Turn Right onto TENNANT WAY FRONTAGE RD.
  • Turn Left onto 7TH AVE.
  • Turn Right onto TENNANT WAY / WA-432 W
  • Turn Left onto OREGON WAY / WA-433 S. Continue to follow WA-433 S.
  • Merge onto US-30 W/Lower COLUMBIA RIVER HWY to Astoria, OR
  • In Astoria turn Slight Right onto MARINE DR/US-30 W / LOWER COLUMBIA RIVER HWY. Continue to follow MARINE DR.
  • Stay Straight to go onto US-101S / US-26 E / OREGON COAST HWY.
  • Continue to follow US-101 S. to SEASIDE

 From Salem, Oregon (I-5 North)

  • Take I-5 N towards Portland, OR
  • Take the OR-217 exit, exit #292, towards TIGARD / BEAVERTON
  • Keep Right at the fork in the ramp
  • Merge onto OR-217 N
  • Take the US-26 W exit on the left towards TILLAMOOK / ASTORIA
  • Merge onto US-26 W, follow US-26 W to Hwy 101 junction
  • Turn Right onto Hwy 101 N and follow the signs to SEASIDE

Directions to Cannon Beach, OR

From I-5 North/Seattle (210 miles/3.5 hours), take the Longview Exit #36. As you head west into Longview, stay on the main road for several miles to a set of lights. Take a left at the second light, following the signs to Oregon. You are about 70 miles from Cannon Beach at this point. Cross the mighty Columbia River on the big bridge and head west (right) on Highway 30 for 45 miles to Astoria. Highway 30 becomes Highway 101 at Astoria. Follow Highway 101 south through Astoria 25 miles through Seaside to Cannon Beach. Take the first Cannon Beach exit off Highway 101. Follow that windy road thru the first stop sign to the second stop sign. Turn right to reach Hemlock Street and Downtown - just one block from the beach. Drive safely, relax, enjoy the scenery.

From I-5 South/Salem, take exit #292 - Highway 217 - toward Beaverton 7 miles to Highway 26 - Sunset Highway. Go west on Highway 26 toward "Ocean Beaches" for 72 miles to Highway 101 at the coast. Go 3 miles south on Highway 101 to Cannon Beach. Take the first Cannon Beach exit off Highway 101. Follow that windy road thru the first stop sign to the second stop sign. Turn right to reach Hemlock Street and Downtown - just one block from the beach. (more on the Sunset Highway)

From Portland (75 miles/1.5 hours), go west on Highway 26 toward "Ocean Beaches" for 72 miles to Highway 101 at the coast. Go 3 miles south on Highway 101 to Cannon Beach. Take the first Cannon Beach exit off Highway 101. Follow that windy road thru the first stop sign to the second stop sign. From Portland International Airport (PDX) (90 miles/2 hours). The road leaving the terminal is Airport Way. Follow Airport Way to Interstate 205 South. Go south on I-205 for 3 miles to Exit 21B - Interstate 84 (Banfield Highway). Take I-84 West toward downtown Portland for 6 miles. Exit on your left to Interstate 5 South. Take I-5 for 1.5 miles across the bridge, exiting left onto Interstate 405 North. Take I-405 for 1.5 miles to Exit 1D (right) to Highway 26 - Sunset Highway. Take Highway 26 west for 75 miles to Highway 101 at the coast. Go 3 miles south on Highway 101 to Cannon Beach. Take the first Cannon Beach exit off Highway 101. Follow that windy road thru the first stop sign to the second stop sign. Turn right to reach Hemlock Street and Downtown - just one block from the beach.
