You would like to purchase a portable travel coffee machine but don’t really know which model to choose, which one to choose, or even how to make your choice? Don’t panic, we’ll explain everything to you in this article!
What is a portable travel coffee machine?
A portable travel coffee machine, as its name suggests, is a small manual or electric device that allows you to make coffee almost anywhere. Indeed, it is a portable model of coffee machine. Smaller than its sisters, it can be easily transported by car, in a camper van, in your backpack or even in your suitcase. It therefore allows you to make an espresso color when you want it and especially when you want it.
When to use such a coffee machine while traveling?
We will use the portable coffee machine, mainly when traveling. Whether hiking, camping, or more simply in the car during business trips for example. In fact, any occasion is good, as long as you want to enjoy a good coffee and you’re not at home. Note that these machines can also be used for tea. Even if a gourd or infusion bottle is more suitable.

The portable machine works differently from a traditional coffee machine. Due to its portability, therefore a small model, you will have to add water for each new coffee you want. Hot for manual models, and cold or hot for electric models (I’ll come back to this later). Then you place your coffee in it. And all you have to do is brew the coffee and then enjoy it.

There are two models of machines, those that are manual and those that are electric. A manual model will require adding hot water and operating the machine by hand. The electric model allows use with cold or hot water regardless, since the machine will heat the water for you and everything will do itself, just press the start button. Note that for the electric model it will need to have a battery when using it.

As we have seen above, there are several types of portable coffee machines. You will have to do this according to usage. For camping without electricity we prefer a manual model. In the hotel or in the car an electric model is very good. It offers better coffee. When it comes to coffee, we prefer pods, but ground coffee does the job very well, you have to choose between the two. Finally, it is a portable accessory, so it must be small and light, and preferably quite compact and practical.

I had the opportunity to test different models, both electric and manual. I must admit that electric espresso machines make much better coffee than manual ones; However, manuals are smaller, lighter and in my opinion more suitable for travel. I think you have to find the compromise between the quality of the coffee, the price, and the size of your machine.

I think the portable coffee machine is a good travel accessory. Not essential, but very practical and very useful if you want to drink good quality coffee while traveling. Which can sometimes be difficult. But for this you will have to choose it carefully, because some of them can be more cumbersome than anything else.
